After a career focusing on words I decided to experiment with visual expression during my “Act II.” Watercolor painting captivated me from an early age because I love the translucence and the way light and shadows are captured.
My goal is to achieve serenity in my life and to capture it in my paintings. That’s a pretty tall order, and I enjoy the process and journey. My favorite subjects are interior spaces with views of the outdoors. My hope is that viewers have a peaceful feeling as they enjoy the inside space and a glimmer of nature outside. Still life, buildings of all kinds and abstracts also intrigue me and I transition easily among all these subjects.
It brings me great satisfaction and happiness to turn a blank paper into a piece of art using paints and brushes.
