Historical and contemporary events, environmental studies, stewardship statements, or merely playing with paints and mixed media, using brushes, palette knives, and other implements propel me to put on canvas some type of visual essay.
Painting allows me to go to other places. It can be abstract, realistic, or vague enough for varied interpretations to convey a wide range of expressions, some of a serious nature, others not so much.
